Self-employed individuals and landlords will have more time to prepare for Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax Self Assessment (ITSA), following a government announcement on 19/12/2022.
The chancellor set out the government’s plan to put public spending on a sustainable footing and get debt falling while protecting vital public services and prioritising the needs of the most vulnerable.
HMRC has not issued a late filing penalty for anyone who has been unable to file their 2020-21 Self Assessment return by 31 January 2022 providing they did so by 28 February 2022.
